A comprehensive analysis of global and local environments (water, soils, buildings, and human communities) is needed for approaches that can resolve these challenges. In the Department of Bioenvironmental and Agricultural Engineering, students acquire knowledge and skills in a unified fashion that enables the comprehensive assessment of environments and the production of integrated bioenvironmental and engineering solutions. Students learn the skills necessary for the creation of sustainable environmental strategies such as restoration, conservation, and regeneration of local soil and water environments. Additionally, students acquire the skills necessary for the development of natural energy, the building of a low-carbon society, and the application of ecological principals to architecture and urban-rural design.Department of Bioenvironmental and Agricultural Engineering Laboratories●Wildlife Ecology and Habitat Management●Bioproduction System Engineering●Agricultural Structure Engineering for the Environment●Water Resources Engineering●Biomechatronics●Agricultural Structures●Regional Environment Conservation●Ecological Design for Architecture and BioregionCollege of Bioresource SciencesCollege of Bioresource Sciencesweb:http://hp.brs.nihon-u.ac.jp/~kaiyo/wp/The oceans are a reservoir of food resources such as fish, shellfish and algae, which are necessary for our diet and food industries. Marine organisms also represent an important source of various physiologically active substances, many of which are used in medicine. It is now more essential than ever to carefully manage and effectively use these bioresources and to conserve the marine environment. Major fields of education and research in the Department of Marine Science and Resources are aquatic life science, aquaculture, capture fisheries, utilization of marine bioresources, and conservation of marine environments. Our graduates are active in all of these fields and more, including environmental regulation.Department of Marine Science and ResourcesLaboratories●Aquatic Animal Physiology●Aquaculture and Environmental Biotechnology●Molecular Physiology and Biochemistry●Aquatic Animal Health●Marine Products Utilization●Fish Behavior and Measurement●Biological Oceanography●Aquatic Ecology●Eel Science
